Renaud Marion’s Air Drive Cars

Had to share these great images with you. French photographer Renaud Marion’s latest series called Air Drive cars will stir a memory in all of us. For me, it’s Luke Skywalker and his Landspeeder from the original Star Wars, I can still recall Alec Guinesses’ words, ‘They’re not the Droids you’re looking for….’

We contacted Renauld to ask more about the images and what inspired him. “When I was a child, and as many children, I was dreaming that we would have flying cars and i was truly believing that we would get to that. Can be that I’ve watched too many movies like Blade Runner, Back to the future or Star Wars.”

Was it a personal project or a commercial shoot? “It’s a personal project, I will start to sell prints in edition limited. I will like to make an exhibition.” If Renauld does create a series of prints, we’ll be sure to let you know. You can read more of the technical details behind the images over on Car Photographer.

Author: Neill Watson

If you love the sound of the Cosworth V8 as much as the V12 Merlin, the smell of Jet A1 as much as Castrol R and admire the late Ray Hanna as much as Sir Stirling, you’ll find you’re both on the same page. Neill's love of art deco buildings means that his ideal home would be a brilliant white, 1930′s control tower in Southern France, with crisply mown grass, biplane parked on the driveway and a Ferrari 288GTO in the garage. This is something that those around him tolerate, though it does concern them from time to time.
