Superswede The Movie

This is the movie we would love to have made. Even today, in Sweden, the name Ronnie Petersen is an icon on level with Ingemar Stenmark and Björn Borg. We have great affection for the inspirational racing style of Superswede and have made the pilgrimage to Orebro ourselves to visit the memorial Ronnie.

Superswede is a movie created from original archive material and modern day interviews with those who knew him and follows the journey taken by him and hims wife Babra into the world of Formula One. Rivals such as Sir Jackie Stewart talk candidly about the risks of racing in Formula One in that period, with a 60% chance of death if you raced for five years or more.

If the trailer is anything to go by, scriptwriter and producer Henrik Jansson-Schweizer has done a great job and we’d love to be present on 17th August at the premiere. We know of no plans yet for release outside of Sweden, but Superswede was love across the world, so it will surely only be a matter of time before everyone enjoys the chance to view this film.

If you love the sound of the Cosworth V8 as much as the V12 Merlin, the smell of Jet A1 as much as Castrol R and admire the late Ray Hanna as much as Sir Stirling, you’ll find you’re both on the same page. Neill's love of art deco buildings means that his ideal home would be a brilliant white, 1930′s control tower in Southern France, with crisply mown grass, biplane parked on the driveway and a Ferrari 288GTO in the garage. This is something that those around him tolerate, though it does concern them from time to time.
