A chance conversation with friend Roy Parker alerted us to this interesting historic race series in France this past weekend. Historic Tour is a race series with a wide variety of appeal at many levels.
Spread across some of the most pictureque circuits in France over seven weekends, the series takes in Paul Ricard, Dijon Prenois, Circuit de Charade, Circuit d’Albi, Le Mans Buggatti, Val de Vienne before returning to Paul Ricard in October.
Roy’s pictures show some of the diverse cars entered across a busy weekend of more that twenty races. Everything from Historic F3, vintage Lotus Sevens, GT cars such as Chevrons all the way up to more recently retired cars such as a Viper and even an Audi Quattro spotted amongst the Porsche 911s. The list of series attending is diverse, you can see more details on the different eligibility here.
As Roy says, the Historic Tour is a great collection of older cars all competing and great tracks. The calendar is nicely spread out so that for those with business and work commitments the travelling isn’t too arduous a schedule.
We will be reporting more about this series in future, but Roy’s iPhone shots give a flavour of what can be found in the French sunshine. More details on the Historic Tour on their website, What’s not to like?
